Alkermes plc has completed its acquisition of Avadel Pharmaceuticals plc, a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company, under a court-sanctioned Irish scheme of arrangement. Avadel shareholders received $21.00 in cash per share plus one contingent value right for each share. [01]
The deal adds Avadel's FDA-approved sleep medicine product to Alkermes' commercial portfolio and gives Alkermes an experienced commercial organization in that disease area. Avadel's shares stopped trading on Nasdaq and Avadel became a wholly owned subsidiary of Alkermes. [01]
