What happened

On July 2, 2026, Iridium Communications Inc. completed its purchase of the remaining 61% of Aireon Holdings LLC that it did not already own. The transaction gives Iridium indirect ownership of all membership interests in Aireon and its subsidiary Aireon LLC. [01]

The aggregate purchase price was approximately $366.7 million. Half was paid in cash at closing, with the remainder deferred as a loan from the Sellers. [01]
