What happened

WaveDivision Capital, led by broadband executive Steve Weed, along with The Pritzker Organization and Stephens Capital Partners, has partnered with EarthLink's management team to acquire EarthLink. The Atlanta-based internet provider serves over 500,000 internet and managed services customers nationwide.

Trive Capital, which carved the business out of its former public parent in 2019, will continue with a minority investment. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
