What happened

Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A. agreed to acquire PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals, Inc.’s assets primarily connected to bentracimab, including intellectual property, regulatory documentation and goodwill. The agreement also provides for the assumption of certain liabilities.

The offer includes approximately $40 million in cash at closing and future contingent payments of up to $60 million. The transaction remains subject to bankruptcy court approval and higher or otherwise better bids.
